Maintenance of your nail enhancements
Visiting your nail technician for regular maintenance of your nail enhancements will keep your nails fresh and natural looking. If you delay with your regular maintenance, the enhancement will lift and start to crack inviting moisture and dirt to become trapped under the nail enhancement where fungus can start to grow. Every two to three weeks your nails will need rebalancing depending on the growth of your nails. To do this, your nails require a new application of acrylic to new growth area near the cuticle. This can be noticeable for this area will be lower than the rest of the nail.
How to care for nail enhancements
1. When opening packages or containers of any type, avoid using your own nails; use the ball or pad of your fingers.
2. When working in the home or garden, rubber gloves will protect and prolong the life of your nails.
3. Use a pencil or the knuckle part of your finger when using the phone or ATM.
4. Making beds can be our worst enemy, here we need to take due care, try using the sides of your hands when tucking in sheets and blankets. We also need to be very careful when opening car doors and windows!
5. To remove polish from your nails always use NON ACETONE, as acetone will help dissolve the acrylic.
6. Always use a base coat before applying nail enamel otherwise your nails can discolour.
7. Avoid harsh chemicals, these will most definitely lift your nails, it is essential you wear rubber gloves to protect your hand and nails.
8. For your nails to always look their very best, it is recommended you have them refilled every two to three weeks.
9. Once a week remove your polish and reshape and buff back the edge as shown by your technician or if you prefer your nail technician will buff and polish for you.
10. Our nails are jewels not tools, like all things precious we need to look after them.
